Not So Mellow

There is nothing mellow about this yellow shirt, friends. In fact it is quite the opposite of mellow. This baby is bright. When I first spotted it, I totally thought I was too pale to pull it off. That may still be the case, but I have loved this shirt since the day I tried it on, and have worn it a lot. Forget you, mellow!

Today Sarah and I went back to our old photoshoot spot, and it felt good. Awkward as always, but good. She got away without being photographed, but at least we're slowly getting back into the game. I've been blogging since April, and I do miss it when I'm away. I miss writing, I miss reading people's comments, I miss checking out my daily reads, I miss discovering new blogs and leaving comments.

Despite all of that, I still have freak out moments. Like tonight, when I realized that through a random Twitter connection, it would suddenly became possible for a lot of people who know me to view my blog. I lost it. It was like some deep, dark, secret about me was going to be revealed. I panicked.
I'm not sure why I'm still hesitant to go public with my blog, but it doesn't even matter. For now I am content to share this part of myself with the small community of blogger friends I have built up over the past few months. I like that this part of my life is completely seperate from everything else.

Including my increasingly public TV life. Hahaha.

Ok I'm off to bed but before I go let me warn you that you shouldn't expect a lot if you plan on watching "What to Expect When You're Expecting". It's not very good. I know. I was as shocked as the rest of you (aka. not at all), but I'm pretty certain that Cameron's prosthetic belly will not win her an Oscar. #sadface
Also, Anna Kendrick is totally overrated.

Double Denim

A sure sign that you had a fabulous time at a friend's cottage and are trying desperately to prolong the cottage vibe: finding yourself searching for the local country station to listen to in your car.
That happened. To me. Half an hour ago. (Sarah's going to love it)

This weekend was fantastic. From Friday's pool party with my colleagues to a sunny weekend at the cottage - I really couldn't have asked for more. Every weekend should be like it, and I am certainly NOT looking forward to being in the office for 8 hours tomorrow. *sigh*

Here's my outfit from Friday. Nothing says "casual Friday" like two denim pieces. Bless!

These photos were taken near my colleague's house, right before the pool party festivities started. As we were taking them, her girlfriend came home and caught us red handed. She was like  "why are you guys taking photos of each other?" and it was one of those moments that made blogging seem really silly.

But, I love it.  For example, the highlight of my Monday morning is going to be sitting down with a coffee and catching up with my fave bloggers - checking out what they were up to this weekend and how they were dressed. Looking forward to it!

Where Have You Been?

I've been MIA lately and it's a little bit because my computer at home was being ridiculous, work has been busy and we haven't had time to take photos AND mainly because of French. I've been studying like a mad woman/ sitting around waiting for my teacher to grace me with her presence. Both took up my whole weekend, and I am none too pleased about it.

So what happened while I was gone? My best friend came home for a visit after being away for a year, and it's been so great. Seeing her just made me realize how much I had been missing her, and the fact that she's leaving on Sunday (already!) makes me want to cry. BUT, I'm trying not to because there is still plenty to look forward to, including this Friday which I'm taking as a vacation day and will spend with her and our bestie Patrick. Can't. Wait.

I went on a second date that involved two wheels and a helmet. Enough said.

I made my first ever legit thrift purchases (aka. I bought things I actually want to wear, and not just as Halloween costumes). I'm nervous and excited to throw them into the rotation.

I learned that I have more patience for people's BS than I thought, as I spent a total of 6 hours waiting for my French teacher this weekend. Gross.

Here's an outfit from the other day that I saw on Pinterest and had to recreate immidiately.

Bright Lights

Today my colleague asked "Where did you get your shirt....1989?"
I chose to take that as a compliment because I'm loving all the neon this season, and this bright shirt is no exception. (I wanted to get it in all the available colours, but settled for this one and the beige one that I wore here) What I'm not loving at all, is the fact that all my recent pics have been taken in this exact same corner - mais c'est la vie.

Ps. Unfortunate Things I'm Realizing Thanks to my Blog #834759874593759834: Regardless of whether I need it or not, I always have a hair elastic around my wrist. Sometimes two. Sad.
