Tumultuous Thursday

My brain hurts. That's the kind of day this turned out to be.

My outfit was inspired by / copied from Veronika's Blushing. I really love the jean + pink combo, a great twist on the good ol' business casual situation. I apologize for the weirdness of the photos, I think the "clarity" setting on Camera + may have been a mistake for these indoor pics (it was freezing and raining today, so we couldn't go outside).

Ok, need to go rest my hurting brain. Looking forward to a fresh start tomorrow.

I've Got That Illin' Feelin'

This morning I woke up...sick. How. Lame.
Two hour nap after work later and I'm still not feeling well so I'll keep this short.

This outfit was inspired by J's Everyday Fashion, and I'm really loving the colour combo. (The doctor at the clinic this morning said "My, aren't YOU colourful?" when I took my jacket off...that's a compliment, right?)

When it gets warmer/ for a non-work related occasion, I'd like to lose the blazer because I'm not 100% convinced the frilly shirt works that well under it.

Ok, I'm off to bed hoping to wake up feeling much better tomorrow!

Monday Has Been Cancelled

....go back to sleep. That's what I wanted to hear this morning because I was running SO behind and then hit a ridiculous traffic jam on my way to work. Always good to start the week off on such a grrrreat note.Blah!

My mom said this necklace looked like the type of chain they used to keep the cows tethered in place when she was growing up on a farm. Not *exactly* the look I was going for, but ok. Please note that my hair is still straight aka I haven't washed it for 4 days.

Dear Dry Shampoo,

I love you.

Sincerely,
Maja

I forgot to mention a small but amazing tid bit from Friday night. My friend's boyfriend (shout out to Anthony if he's reading) told me that my blog inspired him to start blogging as well, so in the fall he's going to be starting a football blog. What an awesome thing to hear!

Birthday Bliss

It's 4:35 PM and I just finished eating my brakfast. What. A. Weekend.

My birthday was absolutely, positively, outrageously amazing. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such a fantastic family and group of friends. It was the best birthday weekend, in a long time...there were new friends, old friends, those who are close and some who may not be close physically but couldn't be closer to my heart. I am going to be starting out another work week exhausted, but it will be absolutely worth it, because I couldn't have asked for more, for my birthday! Even the universe knew something special was up, and gave me a supermoon to light up my birthday night!

The pictures are a small glimpse into my weekend (which is still under way - "Djurdjevdan je, a ja nisam s'onom koju volim"). I had fully planned on posting an outfit post on Friday, freaturing a special surprise: my straight hair, buuuut things quickly got out of hand, and there was no time for a photoshoot. It all started with a delicious Malaysian birthday lunch from our colleagues. Then...

Beer and chips. Love my job!

Neon cupcakes for the Birthday Bulls.

Yum!
"Couldn't have asked for a better night - or a better friend to share a birthday with." AMEN!
Surprise bracelet twins @ the party.

This guy was everywhere, all weekend. Slovenia!
Bas je lijepo "stariti" sa tobom! SonJ

Supermoon for the superbirthday. Ah-mazing.

Caught In The Act

I came home late last night, and quickly picked out a really cute outfit for today based on the weather forecast - 19 degrees celsius and sunny. I woke up (late) and realized it was cold, foggy....and rainy. Awesome. So at the VERY last minute (while running around like a crazy person) I threw together this outfit and it kind of shows haha.

Also, as we were taking photos today, a group of people fully walked by and saw us. The first picture is ridiculous, but it shows my reaction, at the exact moment when I realized we had been caught in the act. Awwwwkward.

Right now, I'm having one of those "standing in front of my closet and just staring" moments, and despite ALL of my clothing and ALL of my accessories and ALL of the new things I just bought in the US, I seem to have NOTHING to wear to our (Sarah of Small Town Catwalk and I) birthday party. So frustrating. Tune in tomorrow to find out what I end up picking and for a little surprise :)

Bonne nuit à tous!

Hey, Hump Day

We're over the hump (aka Wednesday), and that much closer to my birthday weekend and mine and Sarah's joint birthday party! Hurray for the birthday bulls!

Today's entire outfit (except the shoes, and bracelets) is brought to you by last weekend's trip to the US, so no need to take individual item photos really. I love this skirt and actually wish I bought one in all the other colours (bright blue, black and tan).

It was really windy outside, so while this shirt is billowy and loose fitting in real life, the wind just blew it in such a way that it basically stuck to my body pretty much the entire time. *sigh*

I forgot to mention that not only did I buy everything on my list while in the US, I also ended up with a date (random, I know)....so I'm off to get ready :)

2 Shades of Gray

It rained, again. (I feel like a broken record) The outdoor photoshoot was foiled, but I'd worn a couple of items from the shopping trip and a brand spankin' new outfit that could not go unblogged :)

The two new items are the studded loafers from the Nine West outlet and the polka dot cardi from Target.

I'm pretty obsessed with these loafers. Wearing them is such a guilty pleasure, you seriously feel like you accidentally left your house in slippers - they are SO comfy. The only thing I am not very impressed with is their sole, or lack there of to be more exact. They have a weird, almost fabric like sole which is an accident waiting to happen because they are super slippery on ALL surfaces except carpet. I am going to have to take them to the shoe repair shop and have them put some actual rubber on the bottom (which I am not very impressed with, because although they weren't super expensive, they also were not cheap either).

The shirt with a Peter Pan collar is an awesome item I snagged at the Fashion Swap party, and which has since then been patiently waiting for her cardi soulmate.

I started dance class tonight again after a month off and WOW, I am so exhausted. Off to bed - good night blogosphere!
